KIM DENT

Kim has been involved in interior design and fashion her entire adult life. Her first job after graduating from the University of Michigan was running the New Faces division for modeling agency legend Eileen Ford.

Later Kim returned to Detroit, where she was the creative lead for several major national advertising brands. But Kim’s first love was interiors, so in 2006 she opened Kim Dent Design in Birmingham. Today KDD has made a name for itself reimagining commercial and residential spaces in Michigan and Long Island. The common thread through all the work isn’t adherence to any single style, but finding the right style, the right combination of look and functionality for every client.

“I always propose a design plan that is a reflection of them,” says Dent. “A room should radiate soulfulness. It should be emotional. It should celebrate the aspirations of the people who live and work there.

“There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing people literally love spending time in the spaces we create for them.”

CAMPION PLATT

Campion Platt and Kim Dent are frequent collaborators on interior and architectural projects, having met as undergraduates at University of Michigan’s school of design.

Campion Platt has thirty years of experience in the field, training at Columbia University’s school of architecture and going on to become a leader in New York’s design scene. He’s been ranked as an Architectural Digest Top 100 interior designer, leading global projects in celebrity interiors and luxury hospitality. His work has been published in Architectural Digest and Elle Decor.

Having established their respective design businesses, Campion and Kim reconnected to spark a prolific design partnership. Their collaborations include high-end residential and commercial projects in the Hamptons, Palm Beach, and Bloomfield Hills.

CASEY LEVY

Kim’s daughter Casey has been involved in interior design her whole life. Growing up admiring Kim’s immense creativity, Casey expressed her own creativity with dollhouses –– and building her own soon thereafter. She studied at RISD’s Architecture program in high school, and began as an intern for Campion Platt in college. Working for both Kim and Campion’s respective design firms, Casey gained ten years of experience on far-ranging projects from Shenzhen, China to San José, Costa Rica. Her published work includes a Residence Magazine cover story, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens photo stories, and a Mountain Living feature.

She works as a Senior Designer in Brooklyn, where she lives with two dogs.
